Every day can be a birthday celebration for the kids at your house with the Melissa and Doug Birthday Party Cake. Kids love birthday parties, but unfortunately their birthdays only comes once a year. There are some icing decorations on the cake already, but it also has 19 additional toppings, which are very cute. They can go crazy adding some strawberries, gum drops, jelly beans wherever they choose. It comes with six generous size slices because, come on, it’s a birthday, and no one wants a teeny tiny piece of cake. Those kids need to load up on as much sugar as they can. It has a serving plate and spatula, so they can dish out the pieces of play food when it is time to eat. And, obviously, a birthday cake is not complete without candles, seven in all. These even have a little painted-on flame. You don’t have to worry about the kids getting frosting or crumbs all over the place because this set, which we are sure makes for some delicious tasting cake. In a kid’s pretend world, even it is yummy.
We really like the idea of wooden toys. Our reason for this is mainly that kids can pretty much do anything with it, and it doesn’t break. Other sets that we have seen is made from vinyl or plastic, and it tends to get kind of grungy at some point in time. It’s nice that it has a little storage box with sections for storing all the pieces. As long as storage space in your house isn’t an issue, and the kids remember to put everything back in here, this will work nicely. Sometimes, these sets come with way too many little pieces. This one is not too bad. It is a very good thing that the decorations are painted on little circles that won’t be easily lost or swallowed. We think any kid will get a kick out of the Melissa and Doug Birthday Party Cake.
