While Dad is outside grilling up a feast on his “big” grill, the kiddos can break out their Melissa and Doug Grill Set and cook up some yummy kabobs with their play sets. Whether inside or outside, this will be a fun pretend activity for them to do. They will be very busy tending to their play food that they may leave Dad’s alone. You could even pack this up and take it to the beach or on a picnic at the park, or camping. The wooden play food and other items make this so easy to take along because nothing is breakable. They are solidly built, and they can get jostled and knocked around without a problem.
The Melissa and Doug Grill Set comes with everything a little cook needs for a barbeque. The actual grill has two pieces. The bottom piece is actually a square wooden box that you can use to store all the items in when not in use. It is painted at the inside at the bottom to look like hot charcoal briquettes. It has a BBQ grate that sits on top of the box to cook the play pretend food on, and of course they couldn’t forget the grilling utensils; a knife, a pair of tongs, and a kabob skewer. What is so adorable about this set is the little wooden play food that they can slide onto the skewers. They can build some colorful kabobs with the shrimp, tomatoes, sliceable onions, pepper and meat, which are the food items that comes with it. Each of the play kitchen food has a hole in the middle that lets them easily slide these pieces on and off the skewers. You could even add some more items, such as a hamburger patty or hot dog, to make it even more interesting.
Our staff thinks the Melissa and Doug Grill Set is a very cool thing for kids because it is so versatile. We really like the Melissa and Doug’s product line because all of their stuff is wooden. These are like your kids building blocks because they can take a licking and last forever. This set has so many possibilities for fun activities for little kids. Barbeques are such an enjoyable thing for all family functions that the little ones will be so entertained with this. They could even have a little camp out in the backyard and cook on their grill. As far as we are concerned, this one is an absolute winner.
