This charming kitchen is just right for little ones about 10 months and up. Six months to three years are the recommended ages by the manufacturer, but during our test session we observed that the majority of 10-month old children enjoyed the toy immensely. The Fisher-Price Laugh N Learn Kitchen has lots of surprises in store for your little one. When your tiny tot crawls through the doorway, music starts playing. There are lights that dance and flicker and fun sounds to listen to, as well as songs to sing along with.
It offers a multitude of activities for little ones. More than 21 songs are available for your child to sing along with (and you can sing with them!). Music selections include both traditional favorites and some new tunes. Radio stations will greet your child with fun phrases and songs. There are over 25 sounds and activities to keep your little one entertained.
The Fisher-Price play kitchen will help your child begin to get familiar with normal kitchen sights, sounds, and activities. Imagination can be shaped by all the possibilities that are waiting in this toy kitchen. As well as having fun, singing songs, and enjoying the comfort a kitchen can provide, the Laugh N Learn set also offers a method to learn the alphabet.

Other educational ideas and tools include a ball that your tot can drop in the kitchen sink and you can encourage him/her to count each time they put the ball in. The balls are a good size, just right to fit a baby’s hands. There are also a variety of shapes and colors to stimulate your little one’s senses. The stove has spin numbers on the front which will help enable recognition of the numbers. As can be seen by observing youngsters around play kitchens such as this one, fun and education can be combined.
This set will require three “C” batteries to operate which are not included. Our staff noted that assembly took only about 30 minutes, but there were a number of screws to put in place. Remember that children should not be around small parts and pieces as they could potentially be a choking hazard, so keep children away from the toy before it is fully assembled.
The Fisher-Price Laugh N Learn Kitchen is designed to be fun and instructional. The set has a toaster that plays music and pops up, and there is a light switch that can be turned on and off. The faucet makes a noise and the refrigerator opens and closes. The playset offers three music modes: you can choose play, music, or learning mode. There are also two volume settings. So many activities are available that it can keep little ones entertained for quite a while. The refrigerator door also has a shape-sorter and a book that little ones can flip the through the pages. By the time the meal is prepared, eaten, dishes are washed, and the table is cleaned (throwing in songs, ABCs, and counting numbers along the way), it makes for a very full day for your tiny tot. Because it has three different modes and levels of play, that helps keep the interaction for your child going and keeps their attention intact. It also teaches the early basic skills such as what “open” and “close” means for the oven and the refrigerator.
