We were simply amazed by the detailed design of the KidKraft Large Kitchen. They have thought of just about every little detail to make this pint-sized play kitchen look like a real kitchen. When we say pint-sized, don’t get the wrong idea. It actually measures 42”x16”x5”, so you definitely need to make sure you have the space for this. It would be ideal for your little one’s playroom as long as the room is big enough. You may have to get rid of some other toys because we believe that this is a great buy that will keep your kids occupied for hours on end. They can role play and stretch their little imaginations to their limits. This should also be a hit when they have their little friends over for a play date. Most kids love to play house, and this set gives them the perfect setting to prepare some really great feasts.

The KidKraft Large Kitchen makes it to the top of our list as one of the best well-designed sets we have seen on the market. It’s made from a very sturdy wood that should hold up very well over the years to accommodate more than one child in the family. This comes equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, a stove and oven, a microwave, a sink with a swivel pretend faucet, and a cabinet for storage. The stove knobs, door hinges and handles have all tested out well under some rough handling conditions. The refrigerator even has an inset that is, as the mfg. description states, “finished with frescoed water and ice dispenser,” which really means it is basically a picture. We love the fact that they have even gone as far as making it multiple colors, (pink, blue, and yellow) to appease both boys and girls. We think this makes a pretty bold statement that the kitchen is not just for females anymore. This even has a play clock and note pad on the side of the fridge. If you add some play kitchen toys, such as play food, dishes, pots and pans, your child will have one of the best fully equipped model around.
As mentioned before, the thing we like the best about the KidKraft Large Kitchen is all of the detail that has been designed into this. The doors actually open and close, there are knobs for the stove, and a sink that can actually hold water and is removable for easy cleaning. There is plenty of storage to keep all the mess of play dishes and food put up. We were a bit disappointed that the water and ice dispensers were not like the real ones. With all the other detail, they could have at least put a plastic lever that could be pushed. We also really like that it is made of real wood versus particle board or plastic. Although we should warn you that because it is made of real wood it is very heavy when you assemble it or try to move it. Another warning, the KidKraft Kitchen comes unassembled with lots of parts. While the instructions are pretty easy to follow, you should allow at least a couple of hours and a lot of patience to put this together. Other than this, your kid(s) should have a blast with this for years to come.
